This is Volunteers Week!
01 June 2017
Volunteers Week is an annual celebration of volunteering across the UK of the huge contribution and positive impact volunteers make.
Gosport Cats Protection will be marking Volunteers’ Week (June 1-7) by highlighting the huge variety of voluntary roles available for local cat lovers.
By sparing just a few hours each month, volunteers can make a huge difference to cats in need in the local area. From helping with hands-on cat care, transporting goods to events, helping on a CP stall or delivering leaflets, there is a huge range of roles available.
Being a volunteer really needn't be a daunting prospect, as we have roles to suit all sorts of people, including those with busy lives or family commitments. The main requirement is a love of cats and an enthusiasm to help them.
We’re a friendly and welcoming group, and becoming a volunteer is a great way to meet new people and learn new skills.
Kate Stapleford is a fosterer volunteer at the branch and says becoming involved is a great way to help make a difference to the lives of cats. She said "Volunteering is so rewarding particularly when I see a foster cat going to a loving permanent home. I've made some great friends, met some lovely people and of course the cats are all special. I love being a CP volunteer and know I'm doing something practical to help cats and people. CP is so supportive and I really recommend it.'
