DougGosport Town

Chunky hunk alert! Here’s Doug, aged about 2 years old, who came into CP care after being a stray for a long time. Not having had much human contact while a stray, Doug's gained the trust of his fosterer after 8 weeks in CP care and now lets her stroke him and he enjoys being brushed. Doug has discovered that it's rather nice having the back of his head rubbed. He's a changed cat and has shown his softer side. Still wary of visitors to the pen, Doug will approach them, sniff their hands and sit by them. Doug adores Dreamies and is becoming a bit of a chatter box with lots of chirrups which is so sweet.

This handsome boy with his rugged looks has been neutered, microchipped and vaccinated by Gosport CP. Doug's new owner will need to be patient to gain his trust but it'll be well worth it. He can live with other cats but needs to be in an adult household.

Doug is being cared for in the Maureen Mayer Memorial pen which was funded from a generous legacy from Maureen who died in October 2010. Maureen was passionate about the welfare of cats and volunteered tirelessly for Gosport Cats Protection for many years. The charity wanted to remember Maureen, a much loved friend and volunteer, in a positive way and we are sure that Maureen would approve.
