The Ben Potter Memorial Pen

18 January 2018
The Ben Potter Memorial Pen
Exciting New Year news for Gosport CP . We are very pleased to announce the construction of a new foster pen.

18/01/18: The first foster cat has arrived and is settling into his new accommodation. He's a little shy at the moment but he has a warm, safe environment in this lovely pen and bundles of patience from fosterer Heather.

15/01/18: Another important stage in the construction of the Ben Potter Memorial Pen - the electricians from Gosport Electrical battled the rainy weather today and connected the pen, giving us light and heat. The wall heater will make it cosy for the cats. It's getting closer to the big day of being ready for the first foster cat.

08/01/18: A cold but dry day for the arrival of the Ben Potter Memorial Pen which has been successfully built thanks to the hard workers of Lindee Lu! It's a bare shell at the moment but once the electrics are done at the beginning of next week we'll be able to make it more homely.

07/01/18: Volunteer Heather will be adding to her list of roles by becoming a fosterer. The pen has been generously funded as a memorial to Ben Potter by his wife, Ruth, daughter Donna and son-in-law Paul. Donna and Paul are long term supporters of Gosport CP, adopting several kittens over many years. Ruth and Ben themselves adopted Seti from us, who became Ben's constant companion during his illness.

Following Ben's death last year, Ruth and Seti have moved to Sussex to live with Donna and Paul. The family felt a new foster pen would be a fitting memorial and we are happy to announce that construction of the Ben Potter Memorial Pen will begin on Monday 8th January.

We hope to bring you updates on the building and equipping of the new pen from its beginnings to the arrival of its first resident.
